Steffy walked around the school feeling super bored. Her first day seemed quite normal but she some how could not forget everything back home. She thought of her brother who was miles away with that jerk of a father. She threw on a sweater that did not really keep her warm and stepped out of the main building and into the woods out back. She took a deep breath, inhaling all the fresh air and the sweet scent of the woods. Other than the beach, the woods were the next best thing. She felt so calm and there was nothing in the world that could take that feeling away.

Alex walked down the trail blindly lost in his thought. His trade mark black duster was pulled tight against the cold. He hummed a tune to himself as he made his way among the trees. The fallen leaves made soft regular crunching sounds in time with his slow stride.

Upon hearing the crunching of leaves, steffy opened her eyes, she looked around slowly. There was no one, then she heard a soft humming. Without thinking twice, she called out " hello??".

‘Hello’ the word carried over to Alex through the tree, it’s owner was close but Alex could not pin point it. “Yo” he called out “who am I talking to” He brushed his blond hair from his ears and waited for a reply hoping to locate it’s point of origin.

Steffy considered her options of replying to a stranger. Putting her hands in her pocket(happens when she's nervous), she yelled back "STEFFY! WHO ARE YOU?".

Taking a quick short cut between trails, Alex stepped out of the woods about 20 feet in front a Steffy. “I’m Alex” he said with an almost sarcastic bow.

Seeing him bow, she laughed. Returning his bow with a sarcastic curtsy back. "Hi Alex" she said, shyness and nervousness disappearing

With a few strides, Alex closed the distance between himself and Steffy. His Duster hung loose now and trailed behind him. “nice to meet you” he returned her laugh as she Curtsied back “I’m glad that I am not the only one that likes to roam the woods”.

Steffy smiled "Me too,walk with me? I think I'm really bored."she asked shyly.

Alex grinned “well I have never been one to refuse a pretty lady”. He held out his left hand and gestured towards the trail “lead the way”.

Steffy walked forward, "You know, the people i met all have really nice eyes purple,silver mine are just plain old green" she says stepping over a fallen tree branch.

Alex followed Steffy, walking nearly shoulder to shoulder with her. “You know my eyes are not that great, it is the reflection of what is around me that makes them interesting” His placed a hand on Stephanie’s shoulder to get her attention “Yet me look at your eyes”. He did not think her eyes were plain, or anything else about her for that matter but he wanted a chance to get a good look at her without staring.

Steffy turned and looked at him, wondering if he was kidding. She looked deep into his eyes as if searching for the answer.

Alex was not looking for romance, doubly so from a girl he just met. He was just suave; it was part of who he was. Seeing the question in her eyes, Alex looked away. He had meant what he had said but only now realized that he might be sending false signals. He did find her attractive but he did not want to lead her on.
“so Stephanie, you’re a junior right” He changed the subject hoping to learn a little more about her.

Steffy looked down at her shoes. "M-hm yeah junior although it's a big surprise for me that i made it to junior year" She laughed at herself for going further then the friend boundary. She had more things on her mind, like finding her brother.
