Malfunto awoke, tired from his nap till 2 PM. He smiled, he still hadn't met his new roomates, and had yet to move in, or even arrive at the school. He got dressed at his hotel room, rushed out on his motorcycle, and met the movers at his dorm. Mal moved his stuff in, and waited for his roomates to show up. He went outside and plugged in his mp3 player, listening to the outlaws, his favorite band. Malfunto sat in the sun, spinning his replica colt peacemaker in and out of it's holster. The gun didn't work, but it was still fun to spin. His eyes glistened in the sunlight, like little beads from a glass marble set. He looked up, and holstered the gun, before walking back inside, and hanging it on his wall, within easy reach while in bed. He knew it didn't work, but that would deter any person or persons who tried anything funny with him.

Ariphias walked through the halls, a sweet smile on his bright lips, his eyes glimmering with the florescent lights that hit them. He danced about in complete bliss, letting his lightly colored skirt flow around his legs with every motion. He hesitated a moment as he came to the door to the room. His long fingers rested on metallic knob but made no motion to turn it. He thought a moment longer, somebody or something, a pleasant surprise awaited the one behind the door. A vivid image came to him and he gave a quiet giggle. He knocked on the door softly to announce his presence before finally his hand turned the knob and opened the door. His smile widened once he'd set foot into the room and he tilted his head slightly, letting his hair flicker with the motion as he raised his hand in a wave hello.

Malfunto let his eyes open. Slowly, he turned his head from the window to the door, watching the little movements of the knob. He let his gaze shift, and his hand drifted towards the gun. He didn't know who it was, but as his hand touched the metal, he silently bolted towards the door. When it opened, he stepped out from behind it. "oh, hello there my friend. It seems we share the same room. Pues, este ano vas a estar muy interestante" Mal mumbled the last words to himself. It was Ariphias, his crossdressing friend. Malfunto walked back to his bed, pulling the pistol from within his belt, and placing it back in the holster by his bed. He sat down, smiling. "so, how's life going?" he asked, his mind drifting to the endless possibilities. 'No, Bad Mal! Don't go there!' He thought to himself, chuckling.

Ariphias glimpsed at the weapon for a moment before he shifted his gaze to admire the rest of the room as the other spoke, at some points in a language he did not know. He turned back to his roommate once he realized a silence, he gave a delighted smile, "and so it seems, I wonder who the other is. Never mind that, though, it's a pleasure to meet again. Not much has changed in my life, although I imagine much could," he spoke with in his slow soothing tongue as he made his way toward the bed he chose as his own. Once he sat down he began to fiddle with his hair, "I return the question back to you, then," he spoke with a gentler smile as he let his gaze rest on the other and settled his hands in his lap.

Mal glanced upwards at the crosdresser as he focused on how he was going to survive this year without letting his work ethic go to shit. He had a good lookin guy in his room, and a few good friends. Fawk. He looked up for good this time, only to see the girl, erm, boy, erm crossdressing man, sitting across from him. "OH, well, it hasn't changed much, but I love living, so, it's good!" He spoke softly, almost afraid to speak, to scare away this fragile seeming gift from the heavens. 'oh, snap out of it you lovestruck fool. you're always looking for someone to love you. Oh yeah! well I blame my parents' he started arguing with himself in his head, his eyes darting back and forth across the room as if seeing the argument on the wall behind Ari. Mal smiled, and closed his eyes.

Ariphias watched his roommate's eyes shift and felt a slight air of awkwardness. He tilted his head in his curiosity, but covered it with a light, childish smile, "good indeed," he spoke cheerily though smoothly, as it was only natural for him to mimic the relative level of voice taken by another lest it louder then thunder or sharp enough to break his own thinking process. Ariphias gave a light laugh to soften the mood and stared upward, thinking maybe there was a movie projector running something behind him without his knowing. He then turned his gaze back to the moving subject once he realized that was not the case, the curl still upon his thin lips, "something wrong?" he asked with his usual light tone.

"No, nothing, just thinking." Mal said still thinking. He snapped out of it, and said "Well, I haven't gone to see Carter yet" Mal spoke guiltily. They had been such close friends at Epson, and yet he hadn't even gone to see the guy yet. "Anyway, I'm gonna head out, maybe visiting hours are still going on, and i want to introduce you to the guy who got me my motorcycle, and who set me up as the gossip queen at my last school. Maybe Bradley will be there too!" Mal said, chuckling. He stood, and walked towards the door.

"Enjoy yourself, then, and I'll look forward to meetings," Ariphias said with his usual smile, raising an elegant hand and waving a fluent goodbye, "and I'll see you later." He gave a happy sigh and let his body fall in a mess of frills upon the downy bed. He blinked before sitting up again in a spur of energy, "oh right, and you'll bring back a souvenir, won't you?" he spoke with a grin, raising a hand once again, this time with index and middle finger up to form a peace sign, "if you don't I'll lock you out," he continued with the same light smile and tone. He stuck out his tongue teasingly before laying back down upon the soft bed and pausing for but a moment, "actually, I wouldn't, and a demon won't, so take your time and come back in once piece, and then maybe the other will join in for introductions," he finished with a content smile, his eyes locking on the final, unoccupied bed, wondering to himself if this was the year he'd master the art of three way conversing.

A few hours later, Malfunto walked back through the door, his eyes damp, and the dark hair he kept neatly combed most of the time shaggy in the back. He sat down on his bed, and looked at his phone. The photo was of him with Carter, Noelle, Bradley, and the rest of the Epson gang. It was amazing how people could just chase someone out like that. He flipped the phone shut, and put it on his desk, lying down, and burying his face in the pillow, not recognising if there was another presence in the room at all.
Reaching into his pocket, he felt the small trinket he had grabbed from the hospital gift shop. It was a pen that looked like a hyperdermic needle, but wrote in blue ink. He placed it on the table next to him, after writing a quick note on a post-it. [here you go Ari]. After that, he simply laid there, glad that Carter was still alive, but upset that he had been kicked out of the one place that made him happy.

Ariphias, having gotten bored and taken the opportunity of lack of persons to shower, emerged, in the usual mess of frills along with an additional feeling of freshness, in time to catch a glimpse of the tall figure letting itself in. He tilted his head a moment, fiddling with the long, wet locks that he'd let down to cleanse, trying to place a name and failing. Slightly embarrassed though not surprised for his inability to keep tabs on names, he raised his arm in a light wave instead, "welcome," he paused as he realized the mood, the curl to his lips slipping away, "back," he finished slowly and quietly. The Junior gave a silent laugh when he saw the item emerge on the desk, his lips flicking into a truly happy smile despite the gloom that made the world seem that much dimmer. He sat down on his own bed for a moment, leaning back on his arms and staring outward, it was either early or it was late, for it was clearly darker then day. Darkness. He'd either forgotten the origins or never learned them, more likely the latter than the former, a quote did come to mind, but he shoved away the thoughts as his roommate once again came into focus. He closed his eyes for a moment, letting their light flickered as a flame in the wind. He gave a light smile, shrugging his shoulders as he finished debating with himself in regards to the next step. He got back to his feet once he'd decided, picking his way carefully over to the other, afraid to break the delicate thing that was silence. Once he'd made it to his destination, his expression became warmer and he leaned over and stroked the tall frame with his graceful fingers, a quiet thank you making it's way smoothly out of his thin lips as he picked up the pen with his other hand. Ariphias turned, once again staring outward as he made his way back to his own bed. He used in his usual soft, but audible voice to break delicate silence as he moved, "the ability to listen is all a being can learn, an ear is all this vessel can lend, a voice is all the soul has to reach toward it's dreams. As long as there's one that needs to speak, there will be another that will listen," he paused, twitching slightly at how the words fell away from his lips, each word slaughtering the original peace that seemed so well fitted for the atmosphere, each sound seeming as glass on cold, smooth marble. He blinked this away and continued, "nobody's here to force you to speak, but nobody's here lock the voice away, that is..." he smiled to himself, not knowing entirely why. He landed back on his own bed. His eyes wondered to the ceiling at he considered his words, picking away, once again, at their origins.

Malfunto looked up as he felt the hand on his back. "Oh. Hello Ari. I didn't think anyone was here. I don't like for people to see me like this" He said, explaining. Malfunto sat up next to Ari, and realized that he had felt a breeze through the window. Standing, he closed it, feeling the air blow his long hair back, as it was slowly funneled into the small space between the two panes. He moved slowly back to the bed, and sat down. "Just forget about it" He said, and laid back on the bed, staring at the ceiling.

Ariphias smiled his light smile and sat up. He brushed his long hair into his lap and began stroking out the small beads of water that hung from individual strands. Cleaning was troublesome, yes, but more so was drying. Blow dryers were never of any good, they made a mess and he was suspicious of the heat they gave off. He gave a light sigh, the smile still in his eyes and on his face. He looked up, "sorry, I'm too lazy to leave after I come in," he laughed as if the mood was the happiest he'd ever been involved in and then turned back to his hair. "Forget, huh? That's a first. Even so, that's," he whispered so quietly not even he could hear it, the only proof it had passed was the feeling of his tongue moving slightly as it tried to form the words. He thought for a moment, things passed by him so easily people rarely ever voiced the need, being told to forget was beyond him. He nodded to himself in a fashion that could almost be considered prideful before finishing in an audible tone, "easy enough," he said cheerily, his bright eyes reflecting his happiness of being able to abide without effort. In his personal joy, Ariphias had forgotten entirely about his still moderately wet hair and somehow in the process he had managed to form some ends into a mass of knots. He stared at the mess in surprise, wondering if he should just recondition and dry it, mess with it, cut it off, or just leave it for another time. He was lazy, so redoing it was out, the same went for the second option, he'd recently got a trim so there was no real need for the third option. Even so he considered it for a moment longer, lopping off a foot or two would have made it more convenient to care for, but somehow he was against it, so that was out. He gave a light laugh at himself, figuring the knot would undo itself in due time, after all, it'd only been done by his subconscious. He let out yet another sigh, this one long and bored, pushing his hair behind him he began to stare at his roommate's. He blinked before he stretched out his hand slightly and motioned with it for the other to come over, "let me braid," he said with a grin.

Malfunto looked up at the rather beautiful man. He smiled, and felt the warmth of this man's personality break through his icy shell. He stared into Ria's eyes, and his own started to waver, his entire face looking like a character from an anime show. Turning away, he smiled. Ariphias' words flowed over him, and when he said that he wouldn't leave, Malfunto grinned. It was good to know that someone would stand by him, even if he asked them not to.
He extended his hand, as Ari extended his. Malfunto grinned, and allowed the other man to braid his hair.
(sorry it's so short! EEK. I have such little muse for Mal)

Ariphias blinked, it was rare for people to oblige to such strange requests, but then again, it was rare for people to have the means by which said request could be fulfilled. Females were out of question and their delicacy was never meant to be taken lightly. The carefree smile returned on his face before it had time to fully leave, a rare pleasure meant to be enjoyed, this was. He grinned, "sweet, thanks," he spoke with his overflowing delight for being able to put his hands to use. Before he began he brushed his still moist hair back, releasing strands from the sapphire studded silver that hung from his ears. He used one of many accessories that hung from his wrist to tie his dark hair into a low ponytail. He took the other's locks carefully in his soft hands and ran his long fingers through them, releasing any beginning signs of knots with ease. He split the golden strands into an even three and began to braid them together. He did so in a slow though almost rhythmical fashion, his hands were careful to keep the braid even while not working them together hard or too loosely though still they worked carefree. This was one of few arts his hands had learned somehow at some point in time.

Malfunto blinked, a long blink, more like what one would do while wishing. He started to speak, but as his mouth opened, he shut it. He wouldn't trouble this seemingly fragile, and beautiful creature with his issues, or those of his friends. However, almost as his mouth shut, a single word escaped his lips. Clasping his hands over his mouth, he said softly. "You didn't hear that." Knowing full well that Ariphias had heard him say Carter's name, he stared straight ahead, and said, "Don't tell anyone that I know Carter. He may not be ok here now either." Mal spoke these words almost angrily. Of course, he had left Epson before Carter, and had no idea of the case against him, but he didn't care. His loyalties lay with the one who had helped him fit in all those years ago. Smiling falsely, he shook his head, and said. "Nah, you know what? forget it." Slowly, he turned, trying not to affect the braiding of his hair. In fact, he was going to have it done at his next hair appointment, but hey, if it was being done for free, then he might not go.
Farther off, a solitary figure moved through the halls. Bradley was here. Mal reached for his Zune, and put on a song by Dream Theater, Sacrificed sons. He loved this song, listening to it made him feel like others were just as concerned as he was about terrorists. About twenty seconds in, there was a knock at the door. "It's open my friend" Mal said, and the door opened slowly. Smiling, Bradley stood in the doorframe. It was a smile fraught with falsity and anger, but a smile nonetheless. Entering slowly, the second man moved towards Mal. "You ok man? You ran out of the room pretty fast." He inquired, sitting down next to the duo.
