Bored out of his mind, Alex had decided to take a walk down to the stables and see the horses. tucked under his right arm was a small wicker basket full of large red apples. His long black hair was tied back in pony tail which was fitting since he was in a stable. He was wearing loose fitting black jeans and a white t-shirt. Half covered by the sleeve on his left, one could just make out his new tattoo.

reaching the small side door, Alex tired to hold the basket against the wall with his hips while he opened the door. finding the bolt to be stiff he first pulled than tugged on it. when the bolt still did not move Alex jerked on handle as hard as he could in frustration. the bolt suddenly gave way causing Alex to lose his balance and drop the basket of apples

Shannon started as the bolt on the door suddenly slammed open and the door swung open. Apples. Lots of them. Shannon laughed as they rolled all over the floor. She picked up the one she could reach and looked at the boy who'd come in. "You know, there's a reason nobody uses that door." She pointed to the door at the other end of the stable, which stood wide open, sunlight streaming through it. "Although I must congratulate you, that had to have been the most graceful exhibition of man-versus-door I've ever seen! Heads up," she tossed the apple back to him, a twinkle in her dark eyes.

instinctively Alex reached up to catch the apple that was throw his way. in doing so he lost his grip and dropped the the apples he was already holding. "that's me, the ever graceful conqueror of be they large or small. he spoke with a large grin on his face. crouching he quickly picked out the fruit before returning his attention to the young lady before him.

Shannon laughed, glad that he had a sense of humor. "You should take that show on the road. You'd have hundreds of people lining up for your door-conquering services!" She stretched out her hand toward him. "I'm Shannon."

setting the basket down Alex to the hand offered to him and pretended to kiss it as he gave a courtly bow "pleasure to meet you Shannon, I am Alexander Kurucz, or alex for short". "do you have a horse here" Alex ask looking at the horses in the stalls.

Shannon giggled at his show of gentlemanly-ness. "The pleasure is all mine, Alex," she said with a chuckle, pretending to curtsy in her wheelchair. "That one's mine," she pointed to the stall next to her. "His name is Cookie." At his name, a tall black stallion stuck his head out of the stall, peering at Alex with curious eyes.

"would Cookie like and apple"Alex ask retrieving and apple from the basket "I'm here spoiling everyone's horses behind their backs". Apple in hand he approached the stallion. holding out his free hand, Alex let the horse get a sense of him before he patted his neck softly.

Cookie didn't even bother to sniff Alex before eagerly snatching the apple out of his hand. Once the horse had finished crunching the apple, he shoved his head in Alex's face, nuzzling him. "He likes you," Shannon translated, chuckling.

be it a bit shyly Alex ask "so um. . . can or I mean do you still ride, I only ask because you brought cookie to campus with you.

Shannon's dark eyes grew subtly sadder. "Yes, I still ride sometimes. When I can. Do you ride?"

Seeing the sadness in Shannon's eye's Alex bowed his apologetically "I did not mean to make you sad, I do ride some but I have to borrow my friends mare". he walked down a few stalls and held up and apple. a dune colored mare popped her he out and took the apple. "Shannon may I introduce you to Cream (cookies and cream, I so went there) my normal riding partner".

Shannon laughed. "Cream? Like, seriously? Well Cookie likes you, so you're welcome to take him out any time you need a riding partner. Poor boy doesn't get out enough..." she stroked the horse's head affectionately.

Alex laughed at Shannon's reaction to Cream's name."I might take you up on that offer but for today would you like to ride with me"

Shannon grinned. "I would love to!"
