Waking

Scarlets eyes opened with a nurse refilling her IV. She looked at her arm whitch was very very sore. She felt wozzey. She looked up.

"Hello Miss. How are you doing?"
Scarlet looked around confused. No one was here. Not her parents... Not briar. She remebered last night and sighed. She couldn't do anything right. She looked at the nurse. "You want some food?" She asked nicley. Scarlet shock her head no and the nurse smiled swaetly. "Just call if you need anything." She said and scarlet lied there, dreaming.

Scarlet sat up. She looked at her arm. It was covered in bandage but she could see thee blood. She sat back down. She had nothing to do. Just lie with herself. She wanted to go home, No she didn't want to go home. She wished she was dead. even though she felt awful when she did this, she knew what was goin g to happen. She turnned on the tv and watched the people be happy on the screen. 'lies' she thought but couldn't say out loud. She turned over and saw she had a roomate who was sleeping. She was bald. She guessed Kimo. She sighed feeling worse about herself.

Zack knocked softly and stuck his head in the door. "Scarlet? Are you awake?" he whispered.

Scarlet anserwed softly "Yeah." She said in a somewhat tranparent voice. She was so tired. She guessed it was becuase the loss of blood becuase she already felt tired after saying just one word.

"What were you thinking?!" Zack asked, his voice gentle, but concerned.

She looked down. "You don't get it... You don't have to live in a body you hate.... You don't have to have this constent feeling that you'll fail." She said ooking at him with a fire in her words. She relized that there as no need to snap so she added. "I-Im sorry.." Scarlet said and looked at Zack.

"Scarlet, you need help. You need help badly. I lied to the front desk and told them I was your older brother so that they would give me information. The receptionist was very young and very...eager to please me." he said with a dry chuckle. "You will be transferred to the mental ward for a bit after this. It's hospital policy, they cannot let you go home until they are sure you are better. Just...work with them? Please? Let them help you. They can, you know, you just have to give them a chance."

Her hear sped up. Her eyes watered. "I-I.." She said and closed her eyes slowly. "A mental ward? Great, now you think I'm crazy right? I'm weird? I'm freaky?" She said an sighed. "Who did you tell?" She asked closing her eyes again.

"NO!" Zack snapped, trying to get through to her. He held her chin and gently turned her to face him, making her look him in the eyes. "Listen to me, Scarlet. I do NOT think you're crazy, not at ALL. Okay? Not at all. You do need help. They can help you get rid of the pain, if you just let them! But you have to be open to it, you have to let them."

"They won't be able to help. Do you know what they do there? They punish you. They yell at you. They mae you do all this shit that "Helps" They stuff food down you're throught and tell you while you're wrong." Scarlet said. She looked up. "I'm sorry.. I'll try, okay?" She said looking at Zack.

Zack shook his head. "SCARLET! Snap OUT of it! You don't know what they do so stop making sh!t up and just stop feeling sorry for yourself! You need HELP!" Zack stormed out the door, slamming it behind him. He just stood in the hallway leaning against the wall, his head in his hands.

Scarlet looked down. she mubled to herself. "I would kow. I've been there." She said and looked down. Tears falling down her face. She closed her eyes, trying to sleep. But t would not come. She felt somthing coming up in her throught. she couldn't contain it. She screemed. She cried as hard as she could. She let it all out. Her nurse and docter came running in. Her nurse patted her back while she let it all out.
