Briar paced down the beach to a smooth, ocean-worn log, rooted firmly in the sand just at the water's edge. She sat down on it, letting the surf brush her toes. "This work? I come down here all the time just to think, or whatever."

"This is amzing" She said and sat down next to Briar. She looked at her and smiled. Their knees slightly brushed and chills went up Scarlets spine. She had never felt like this. She looked at her then looked down.

"What are you thinking right now?" Briar asked softly, gazing out at the ocean in the dimming light.

"Honestly?" She asked and smiled at the little sliver that was left at the sun "How beautiful you are." She said plainly

A shiver ran down Briar's spine. "Really? Umm, thank you...you're beautiful too, whether or not you believe me." In her head she could not stop wondering if Scarlet would still like her if she knew...

"Really?" She asked, Not bealive a word, But... it was nice to hear. She looked at Her, not knowing what to say, but feeling tottaly comfterble. She scooted closer and smiled.

She looked at her. Mustering all her courage. She looked at Briaes Face, studding it. She lifted her hand to carres her cheeck, But then lost all her curage. She looked down and scooted away. "I'm sorry." She wispered

"No, it's okay..." Briar's voice broke, her fear seeping through. Now would be a very bad time to get too stressed out...

Scarlet didn't know what to do. She felt like she was overstepping Briar's boundrys.

Suddenly Briar hissed. There was ringing in her ears. "Godd**n it!" she exclaimed. She glanced at Scarlet. "Sorry...I'll...I'll be back..." she got up and ran for the school, uncertain where she was going, but knowing she had to go somewhere.
