“well yeah, it use to be my favorite game as a kid” Alex responded unsurely. He was not certain she was even talking to him.

"There's always a hider, always a seeker. The seeker must not find, the hider must be a shadow..." she mumbled, either not hearing, or simply ignoring him. She seemed very lost in thought, almost troubled.

Alex set his things aside and walked over to Echo. He softly touched her shoulder trying to comfort her.

Echo flinched violently, shying away from him, her eyes turning wild. She shrank back, looking like a cornered animal. She scrambled backwards in the sand until she tripped and fell backwards, and even then she kept crawling, her fearful eyes on him the whole time.

Axle pulled back not expecting such a violent reaction "please, please claim down, I mint know harm, you looked troubled, I was trying to comfort you" he pleaded with her.

Gradually, Echo's eyes lost their wild look, her stance relaxed, and she stood in the sand looking very small and very young. Vulnerable. "Echo is sorry. The men with the hands...they haunt the dreams..."
