Mia leaned on Bird's neck as they seemingly flew through the forest, Bird's hovves barely making contact with the ground. Still holding on, Mia buried her face in Bird's mane, silently crying. She had made a fool of herself, and her heart felt like breaking. But she wouldn't let it do that. That was a mistake she had learned from, a hard but good lesson.

She could feel Bird's muscles moving as he strode further, not once faltering. Mia took her face out of Bird's mane. This was a mistake. Bird, for some reason, lost his footing when he felt Mia sit up properly, and Mia went flying into a nearby tree, her head snapping painfully on the hard bark. Bird flipped onto the ground, but, thankfully, was up within seconds, shaken but okay. Mia lay slumped on the tree unconcious, as Bird nuzzled her and stood by, skittering at the slightest noise.

Zack saw her go flying out of the stable on Bird's back, and was alarmed. Was the girl crazy? He hadn't said anything that bad! He ran after the horse, his athleticism paying off. He didn't try to catch up, he knew he never could. He simply kept her in sight. Then he saw her go flying from Bird's back. He gasped, and ran faster, reaching her in minutes. He gave Bird a gentle shove and knelt next to her, his fingers going to her neck. She was alive, thank god. "Mia? Mia! Can you hear me?" he called to her, praying she would wake up. They were too far out in the woods, his cell phone didn't get signal out here. If she didn't wake up he would have to move her, and that was dangerous. Fortunately, his father was a doctor, so he had limited experience detecting injuries. "Mia, sweetie, please wake up."

Mia woke up groggily, none too pleased when the first face she saw was Zack’s nor that her heart skipped a beat when she saw him. “I’m fine.” She grumbled, wincing slightly as she slid into a sitting position. She could feel a large bruise on her cheek, and her left ankle felt like it was on fire. “Where’s Bird?” She questioned, trying to avoid Zack’s eyes. "No!" Zack said quickly, supporting her back as she sat up. "Don't move. I'm serious. I don't care how pissed you are at me, don't move." His fingers prodded the back of her neck, feeling her spine very carefully, all the way down her back. "Where does it hurt?"

Mia's eyes started flashing a bright violet again and she clenched her fist, taking deep breaths. "I. Am. Fine." She said. She took a deep intake of breath when Zack prodded the ribs right below her left shoulder. Those ribs hurt as well as her heart when he did that, as if something was poking it. Mia really didn't care. "I'm fine, alright? Now where's Bird. Please."
