Appearance/Wardrobe: Hughes stands 6 foot 3. He has shorter black hair with a slight hint of grey on the sides. He wears small glass when reading, but does not at any other time, as he thinks they make his nose look very fat. He wears a blazer and a button up shirt though it is never tucked in, his tie is always loose and always red. He has five o’clock shadow all the time, though most do not understand how this is possible. He wears slacks that are not always ironed and the same red sneakers.
Personality: Jericho has a very off personality, seeming to change at random intervals. He suffers from several mental illnesses, though he has not been deemed unfit to work, or a danger to others. He “Suffers” as some would say from mild paranoia, insomnia, schizophrenia, and a slight case of catatonia. He is a very happy person when he is medicated and his paranoia is in check. He loved to teach and thus is normally a very cool person when he is in the class room, he even considers himself sane there, though most would disagree. Though he is a wonderful teacher and mostly all of his students love and remember him, he is new to FOA and is eager to get to work.
He can be quite the handful when he is paranoid. Often known to seclude himself away from others, or talk in a whisper. He is a big sugar and caffeine junky, this no doubt leading to his insomnia; he can always be observed drinking coffee or eating something sweet. He has been known to stop a class in the middle to go and get more coffee. He sits in an curious way; he sits on the balls of his feet (like L, lol sorry It had to I fit him so perfectly). He also grabs things as if they where contaminated, due mostly to his paranoia.
History: Jericho Grew up with a huge fascination of animals and the human body. He began to study them at and early age, noticing behavioral patterns in different species. When he went to high school he aced even his advanced Biology class with ease and delight. He did wonderfully at school, but suffered the same fate as all that excel academically. He was shunned, almost to the extent of a pariah. This lack of friends is what help create his schizophrenia. The whole time in “isolation” he kept his love for animals and living things. He had some so called “friends” that would have him do their homework for him, this leading to his paranoia.
He went to Notre dame and graduated majoring in biology. He continued his education going to school thru most of his twenties, though this is where he meet his late wife Helena. He feel in love with her the moment he saw her, or as he would recall. It went well for several years before she left him, calming that he was crazy and she could not longer stand it. It was not till later that he found out she was having an affair and left to be with the other man. He has lived alone since then, though he does have a pet rat named Rolly. He took the job at FOA in hopes to teach others more about The subject he had fallen in love with. He is over eager to start his new job, going so far as to move closer to the school so he could spend more time there.
Strengths/Talents/Skills: Dr. Hughes is a very smart man and easily solves problems. He is a wonderful teacher and has great teaching tactics. He can play the piano. His insomnia makes him a great grader, finishing papers that night.
Weaknesses: His paranoia is a big deal. The catatonia can be a problem when it is active, can bring a conversation or a class to a screeching halt. His coffee addiction.
